Interior protection

What it is

What is interior protection?

Interior protection is a transparent protective film for the vulnerable surfaces inside the yacht. Marble tops, stainless steel galleys, high-gloss lacquered panels, wooden furniture, glass table tops, stairwells and window sills: exactly the surfaces that are used every day are also the first to show scratches and wear.

The film is virtually invisible, available in matte and gloss to match the original finish, and self-healing: light scratches disappear from the film again with heat. The surface underneath stays protected. We apply the film on location, with the interior in place.

Protecting instead of restoring

Why protect the interior?

Restoring interior damage on a superyacht is costly: a scratched marble top or a worn lacquered panel often has to come out, be reworked or be replaced. Protection prevents exactly that. The film takes the daily wear from jewellery and cleaning, so the material underneath keeps its original appearance.

That makes the film ideal for heavily used areas and for charter yachts, and just as useful during a refit, when tools and foot traffic put the interior at extra risk. The film can be removed again at any time; we assess beforehand whether the finish underneath adheres well enough for that.

Process

How we work

We apply interior protection on board, with the interior in place, space by space, without disrupting life on board.

  • Assessment

We look at the surfaces, the material and the use, and determine which film and finish are suitable.

  • Preparation

We clean and degrease the surfaces so the film bonds invisibly and durably.

  • Application

We apply the film precision-cut and tight, including on edges, profiles and curves.

  • Check

We check adhesion, edges and finish, so the protection is truly invisible.

Benefits

The advantages of interior protection

An invisible film that takes the wear, so the interior does not.

  • Virtually invisible

Matte and gloss finishes match the original surface; on many materials the colour even becomes deeper and richer.

  • Self-healing film

Light scratches disappear from the film again with heat, and the water-repellent surface makes cleaning easy.

  • For nearly every surface

Marble, stainless steel, high-gloss lacquer, wood and glass. We assess on board which film suits each material.

  • Removable again

The film comes off whenever you want, helping to preserve the original surface and the yacht's value.

Experience

Years of film work on board

We have been applying film on board superyachts for more than fifteen years: protective film on glass, black borders, and film on marble, stainless steel and high-gloss lacquer.

We know how to work cleanly and precisely in a finished interior, without damage and without disrupting the schedule on board. That is why shipyards and captains in more than twenty countries ask us back.
