What is glass polishing?
Scratches in the glass, deposits or contamination? With controlled polishing we remove them from the window so the glass becomes optically clear again, without taking the window out.
Polishing suits light to moderate scratches, limescale and salt deposits, cleaning damage and dull patches on windows, bridge glass, sliding doors and glass balustrades on board. How deep and how long the scratches are determines the approach and the labour time; we always assess that on board first.
Polishing or grinding
Polishing or grinding?
Light to moderate scratches, deposits and dull patches are polished away in stages with controlled pressure until the glass is fully clear again. Polishing changes the structure of the glass surface, which actually makes the glass stronger than before.
If a scratch is too deep to polish, we first grind it away under control and then polish the glass back to optical clarity. Which method is needed becomes clear during the assessment on board, so you know in advance what is feasible and what result to expect.
